Home screen: More options for arrangement of featured items? #2315

  • a way to specify the order of the lists/edits/texts sections?
  • replacing the label with a lists/edits/texts button group?
  • interleave lists/edits/texts?

Generally, we don't want to add a lot of UI to the home screen. Most of what you do there should lead into the site. (Also keep in mind that we can't open a dialog, or even a select, on top of the home screen.)

Overall, this is about a discoverability issue. By far the best method to make more things discoverable is a text that lists/links to/embeds/... various aspects of the site. The issue is then to make this text discoverable (via button or banner on the home screen).
